Langkawi Island NightLife

Langkawi’s best places for after-hours drinks are located around Pantai Cenang, Pantai Tengah and Pantai Kok.

Cenang’s stretch is popular for its restaurants that morph into nightclubs with cocktail bars and Pantai Tengah’s strip has pubs with deejays spinning music and live performances from local acts. Meanwhile, Pantai Kok’s after-dark scene is centered on the Telaga Harbour Park – a boardwalk opposite the marina.

This bar located in Telaga Harbour Park. It may be quiet at the beginning of the night but as the clock ticks by and the regulars come trickling in, the atmosphere tends to liven up considerably. Featuring a huge TV screen, this bar is especially packed in the wee hours of the morning; try the beers during happy hour, they’re cheap and the atmosphere is simply perfect.

Beach Garden Resort Bistro & Beer Garden

If you’d prefer to sip a cocktail in more sophisticated surrounds, try the bar at the Beach Garden Resort Bistro & Beergarden at the beach’s northern end. Shaded by a bright-yellow canopy, this watering hole has the usual selection of liquors but it is one of those places in Langkawi that has embraced the duty-free spirit; drinks are cheap and the atmosphere is incomparable.

Pantai Tengah

 

Chill Out Bistro & Sports Bar

If it’s 03:00 and you’re still raring to go, then head on over to Chill Out Bistro; located at the beginning of Pantai Tengah. This place features live football games aired on a big screen TV. During World cup season, it is especially packed; there are plenty of pool tables and drinks are cheap. They feature live bands about once a month and if you ask locals where to go for a good time, Chill Out Bistro is sure to be at the top of their list.
